Research On The Construction Of Road Port Cross-border Transportation Data Warehouse Base In Greater Mekong Sub Region

Driving by the joint force of Greater Mekong Subregion Economic Cooperation Organization and China's western development strategy, our country especially the western region have made a great of success in the economic cooperation with Southeast Asia and South Asia. Actually, Yunnan's road port cross-border transportation plays a very important role in this. Indeed, the investment for constructing the western transportation infrastructure is one by one. Our country has invested a lot of money into the construction and a large number of research institutions and researchers were working hard to further accelerate the economic development of the west. Road port cross-border transportation related sectors accumulated vast amounts of data in the long term process of business, however, the role of these historical data are often overlooked:some historical data often hide important information, which can provide us supplementary support for the decision.This paper makes a brief description of the subject background and the current research situation of this subject firstly, and then proposes the idea of applying the data warehouse technology into cross-border transportation and providing the intelligent decision support for relevant managers. After presenting the theory and technology of building data warehouse, this paper make a detailed needs analysis of constructing a data warehouse for port cross-border transportation, including the analysis of cross-border transport characteristics and the analysis of cross-border transport data characteristics. Besides, this paper makes a subject division from different perspective of related cross-border transport departments. Based on the above analysis, with the actual situation, this paper designs the concept model, logical model and physical model of cross-border transport data warehouse. Finally, this paper build a road port cross-border transportation data warehouse based in SQL Server 2005, then ETL part of the historical data into the data warehouse and makes an online analytical process. At last, this paper shows the results of multidimensional analysis report and the results of deep mining of dimension relationship. The result provides the relevant department managers of road port cross-border transportation with intelligent aid decision support.According to the survey, the construction and application of cross-border transportation data warehouse is still blank. The author hopes that the concept model and logical model of cross-border transportation designed in this paper may start a discussion, or can, serve for providing some reference for future research of cross-border transportation data warehouse.
