Research On Data Visualization Of Educational Information

With the implementation of network management in University digital labs , increasing datas make its harder for laboratory leaders to make the right decisions. How to acquire the accurate information quickly and effectively from information -sea has become a challenge for managers. A method of Data Visualization, which simplifies the difficulty of understanding complex data via changing data into dynamic image, is also an important research branch in data visualization.This thesis makes relevant researches on data visualization. Firstly, it explores the feasibility and necessity of the research from the viewpoint of reality. Through Meta-Analysising about the literature review, the author selects the more mature tool of development: Business Intelligence, and determine its value. Secondly, from studying on the comparison of different business intelligence architecture model, it discusses and summarizes the structure of model for this case. The last but not the least, Designing and developing the case based on the structure of model to achieve automated analysis and visualization of the data of educational information.Selecting SQL Server 2008 and VisualStudio2008 as developing platform, the thesis presents the visualization of the laboratory's historical data. The case study in this thesis mainly consists of three parts: firstly, Data Mart is established to integrate data from heterogeneous data source; secondly, the multi-dimensional analysis is made on the data of Data Mart; finally, the diversification report on data is completed and the result of visualization is analyzed in details, which helps to enhance the ability of laboratory administrators and teachers in mining complex data content and tremendously improve the level of laboratory information management.
