Research And Application Of Business Intelligence On Stock Information System

The Internet technology is pervading every aspect of our lives. The stock is no exception; all kinds of stock information can be gathered from the Internet to support people's investing activities. However, just because of the distributivity and openness of Internet, which inevitably lead to large amount of redundant data or dirty data, people can't acquire expected information efficiently and analyze the data accordingly. It's the business intelligence which includes a set of technologies like data warehouse, OLAP and data mining that overcomes these disadvantages. In view of this fact, a stock information system is constructed based on business intelligence.After summarizing the research level of business intelligence at home and abroad, the architecture of business intelligence was illustrated. In accordance, a business intelligence solution of stock information system on SQL Server 2005 platform was proposed. This paper discussed the implement of stock information system from the 3 aspects as below: data warehouse, OLAP database and report.The data warehouse is composed of 3 parts: data source, ETL and warehouse table schema. For data source, a stock information component which extracts stock information from Internet is constructed based on Windows service, SQL Agent Job, .NET asynchronous callback mechanism. For table schema, the E-R diagram is given which is based on dimensional model. For ETL part, in addition to illustrate the construction of ETL Packages based on SSIS, the execution plan of Packages is also discussed.The OLAP database is constructed by creating an Analysis Services project to implement the predefined data analysis logic.Finally, taking the data warehouse and OLAP database as data source, the report component is created based on SSRS to display stock information, which provides the decision support for users.
