It will satisfy customer needs, enhance product competitiveness, and save costs to pay more attention to and promote software usability. Hence, it has practical significance and pragmatic value.ISO/IEC 9126 is an international standard about the quality of the software product. It has been accepted and adopt abroad. GB/T 16260 is a Chinese standard. It almost translated by GB/T 16260. There are still many difficulties and problems existed in practical project.The core contents of the article are:1. Giving a new definition for the usability of software evaluating and testing Indicators system. Illustrating the importance of the research about the usability of software system.2. Building the evaluating and testing Indicators system, the evaluating and testing methods and the evaluation method of the value of those indicators, for the usability of software system. The system is separated into the user aspect and the software aspect. The user aspect fixes up the lack of GB/T 16260 in which there is few considerations about the human factors. In the software aspect, we edited and added some indicators in GB/T 16260 to make the new evaluating and testing indicators system more comprehensive, simpleand practical.3.Introducing some typical evaluating and testing methods.4. Putting the new usability evaluating and testing system above intopractical environment by evaluating the usability of four E-mailsystems, and providing the compare results.
