The background of the popular culture is industrial society. The popular culture has been always accompanied by the producing, circulating and consuming of the cultural artifact. The consuming of the popular culture run in the"the cultural economy", it produces enjoyment and meaning, the viewers consume time and attention.As a phenomenon of the popular culture, the talent show came to China when"the super girl"was held by Hunan TV in 2004. The features of the talent show were popularized and"zero range", so it was concerned extensively. In the talent show, the viewers produce"the common idol"by consuming. Therefore, the author pays close attention to the consuming behavior of the viewers and the influence factors on it.This article is the explanatory study, the author take the study method of case method. The author interview the 20 viewers in Wuhan, and look up the newspapers, magazines and the resources of Internet which include the information of media, the contestants and the viewers. At first, the article introduces the research background, purpose, meaning, and summarizes related documents. In the second chapter, the author describes the general situation of the viewers'consuming behavior from consuming mental, consuming method and consuming evaluation. From the third chapter to the fifth chapter, the author analyzes the influence factors on the consuming behavior from three respects, such as social mentality, interactive and innovation in the culture industry. At last, the author raises the theory thinking of the consuming of the popular culture and the development of the culture industry.The conclusions of this study is that the viewers are the main part of the talent show and the consuming behavior of viewers can be surveyed from the consuming mental, the consuming method as well as the consuming evaluation. Social mentality, interactive and innovation in the culture industry are the main influence factors on the viewers'consuming behavior in the talent show.
