Talent-show, as a program, Introduced from abroad,has experienced completereplication, vulgarization, even halted by the State Administration of Radio, Film andTelevision. It is a tortuous development process, in which the audience have differentattitude to show, sometimes criticism even harder than praise, but the number of thefans of the show, never decrease, even continued to grow, which is a very worthy ofstudy. The purpose of this paper is to study the development of Talent-show in China,to explore the deep reasons of it and provide suggestions for its development.First of all,this paper summarizes,concludes the concept of the Talent-show andhas a supplement for it. At the same time,the history of Chinese and foreignTalent-show and the research status of the phenomenon of talent-show in China isintroduced,which laid a solid foundation for the following discussion.Next,the second part of the article analyses the characteristics of Chinesetalent-show,through the horizontal and vertical comparison.Through the horizontalcomparison, the author points out that there is a gap between Chinese TV shows withforeign talent-shows,especially in three aspects:the focus of program contents, modeof operation and programming technology.Through longitudinal comparison, theauthor traces the historical evolution of the domestic talent show, such as the increaseof program types, the expansion of the participants and so on. In addition, combiningtwo of the most popular talent shows—"Super Girl" and "The Voice of China", theauthor discusses the evolution of the talent-show in China.Through the comparativeanalysis, the development status of Chinese talent show is more clear.The third part of the article is the focus of the full text.The author discusses thereason for that TV shows are so popular in China,from three levels:the operatingmechanism of talent show,the audience psychology,the deep reason.Talent show is awin-win type of program.That people who involved in the program are profitable is the immediate cause that TV shows can exist.Then commercial operations provide theguarantee for the win-win on the mechanism.For the audience,to watch andparticipate in these programs can content themselves for some needs,which is the keyreason that they were keen on TV shows, and actively involved.In the deepestsense,talent show is a product of consumerism,and it is the trend of consumer culturethat made people like it.Finally,based on the analysis of the development status and reasons of thephenomenon of the talent-show, this article puts forward some proposals to the futuredevelopment of Chinese talent show.For example,increasing the intensity of originalprogram,strengthening program copyright protection, improving the specialty of theprograms in every respect,and fully enforcing separation of manufacture andbroadcast of talent shows as soon as possible.
