| Database technology has been a basic means of information processing. Database courses are the core courses both in professional computer science and non-computer science courses.Database course experiment is an important element of practical teaching. Students could not only master the basic concepts of database but also enhance their ability in researching, practicing, innovating, consulting and writing technological literature to adjust to the social requirement for computer talents by combining with theory and practical, designing experiment courses elaborately, completing a small-scale database design and implementation on using data modeling tools and database management system software.Database course experimental designing is discussed in details on the basis of the constructivism learning theory, instructional design theory, design principles and objectives of database course experiment, the analysis of the characteristics of students who major in computer science. Three types of database course experiments, Basic Operation Experiment, Enhance Operation Experiment and Comprehensive Design Experiment, are designed on the basis of learners, learning courses, teaching method design and teaching media selecting and using. Task-driven teaching mode is used to database course experiments.The main features are summarized as follows:1. Practical database course experiments are designed systematically and hierarchically on the process of theory basis, teaching analysis, experimental design and implementation.2. Task-driven teaching model is applied to the database course experiments on the level from "simple task" to "complex task" and the mode from the "imitating the task"to "rewriting the task". The implementation of task-driven teaching model is discussed in details in the experiment.3. Databases which are organized based on practical applications for teaching, according to above experimental guidebook, can enrich the teaching resources and enhance the effectiveness of teaching. |
