In the age of the Internet, people begin to pay more attention to the benefits brought by digital media, such as richness, flexibility, timely information and personal requirements and so on, but it does not mean people have not relied on or not liked the traditional media any more such as newspaper and magazine etc. This paper, under such context, focuses on the comparative study between digital media (electronic journal) and paper media (paper magazines), and is intended to discuss the optimum mode of image transmission in the digital times by the point-to-face method, to provide some theoretic guides and references for the concerning subjects of practical applications by multilayer comparative analysis, and to explore the way of unique competitive advantage for the new and old media industries to use the effective resource properly in the quickly changeable market environment.As the digital and network technologies pervade and embed into the people's life, esp. the new modes such as digital photography, web TV, electronic journal, blogs etc., it comes the period of reading pictures. Those technologies not only provide the convenient technological conditions for the traditional paper media, but promote the perfection and development of the digital media, so that the two parts can meet and share the market of media industry as equals. Because of the diverse personal requirements and the relative advantages of new digital media, the new modes are quickly accepted by the majority of people, showing energetic life and revolutionary spirit of overthrowing old mode. The new media is a multimedia platform in the aspect of its performance, satisfying the people's requirements for vision, audition, even the interaction (besides the words, media modes such as music and movie are also widely used), at the same time, it possesses various characteristics of traditional paper media, which enlarges the range of people's affective cognition. Many people arbitrarily think that the period of printing is going to its end, while some paper media also returns to its traditional business after entering into the network, and even some digital media begins to shift to the paper media. Facing the complex developing trend, image transmission media encounters the problem how to develop the media industry. Now, it needs the media industry to put forward new solution considering the media receptors.In the Internet times, media receptors are becoming classification. With the daily rejuvenation and great increasing number of net receptor, great changes take places in their thinking, reading and writing modes, so image media faces the new challenges and choices. Network, as the new media of the image transmission, will take the important place or even the leading place, and printing media may retire to the second position. No matter what the media is, it should have its own accurate position, and traditional media is not vanishing, but is changing. New superior media will gradually become stronger or weaker, coexisting with traditional media, and traditional media will not disappear. The proper cooperation of the two modes will help the image transmission in digital times, which not only avoids the shock of the digital media to the tradition media, assuring the interests of traditional media, but also exerts the advantages of the high time effect and rich content of the network. The connection of paper media and digital media is promising. How can the images be better transmitted? As for digital media, it should actively combine with traditional media, and attract more media receptors in virtue of the mature editing system of the traditional media. As for traditional media, it should sufficiently apply the media technology to make the journals digitalization, meanwhile, it also should change its thinking mode based on the digital transmission media, for example, digital magazines can combine properly the advantages together of traditional paper media and the network media, which obtains the new competitive market out of the sharp competitive traditional paper media market.
