The results from the present investigation suggest that one or more blood-rheology indicators had abnormity before many diseases (especially cardiovascular diseases and cerebrovascular diseases) have distinct symptom. It indicates the course of diseases have appearance and the state of health of the man is transfering from healthy to subhealthy. So the measurement of blood viscosity have allimportant significance. At present, many blood-rheology instruments with excellent performance have been made. Because these instruments need exsanguinate, general investigation are facing difficulties. So a method for non invasive detection of blood viscosity has been a priority of the agenda.Based on profound study of cardiovascular system and pulse wave theory, the paper analysized that blood viscosity have an impact on pulse wave, and established the theoretic foundation to get blood viscosity out of pulse wave collected by this system. With the development of electron, computer and digital signal processing technology, virtual instrumentation is widely used in various fields, for its short manufacture period, quick technical update, modularization, interchangeability and repeated useness. This paper builded a system for non-invasive measurement of blood viscosity based on virtual instrumentation. The system's software development platform: Windows XP-- the working environment, LabVIEW- the software development tool. By editing universal data collection module's programm and data further procession, this system achieved the popurse of measurement of blood viscosity. The main contains are as follows:(1) Based on profound study of cardiovascular system and pulse wave theory, the paper analysized that blood viscosity have an impact on pulse wave, and established the theoretic foundation to get blood viscosity out of pulse wave collected by this system; (2) Based on hardware platform builded, the present writer wrote system software which included the design of instrument's panel and the organization of background program;(3) Primary experiment, the results and the discussions. Using the experimental system, we carried out a primary experiment. By comparing and analysing the experimental data, this paper verifies the validity and the repeat accuracy of the detection method.
