As high efficient technological equipment, mold has many benefits such as saving of raw materials, low cost etc. In today's mold industry, plastic injected mold is one of the main process methods. At the same time, because of the tendency of machine parts multi-varieties and small batch production, the traditional method already could not satisfy the request. This has urged the application of CAD/CAM technology in the mold industry. But in the development of CAD software, the research of parametric design method has become the hot spot in the research and development. Therefore, the research of parametric design and manufacture system of the plastic injected mold will enhance the plastic injected mold's rated capacity and have a more vitally practical significance.The key technologies and realization method of injected mold parametric design is studied deeply in this dissertation. And based on the powerful parametric design function of Pro/Engineer, in Windows XP operating system, taking VC++6.0 as development platform and using Pro/Engineer development module– Pro/Toolkit, the injected mold parametric design system is been developed.Firstly, through the analytical study to the model injection part, carrying on the classified code according to its structure's similarity, the injection part classification coding system is been established. According to this injection part classification coding system, the injection part is been classified and coded. The analysis to injection part, and according to its actual requirements, the injection part basic design parameter is been determined. Parametric mold parts are been designed using Pro/Engineer software, finally they are been assembled to as injected mold model.Next, key technology of parametric design for plastic injected mold of the Pro/Engineer secondary development have been studied, by analyzing its development tools and the development connection, and Pro/Toolkit is chosen as the development tools in this dissertation. The injected mold design system's menu resource file and the user interface resource file are been founded basing on this. Finally system's main program is been compiled using VC++6.0 and access database, and automated production of injected mold is been realized.The injected mold design system developed in this dissertation has friendly human machine interface and is easy to operate, can improve the design efficiency of injected mold remarkably, and it has many practical value.
