Recent years, many mature industry monitor techniques are widely used in mine enterprises for the DM(digital mine).These are playing an important role to improve the safe production. However, the existing systems are isolated from each other and self-contained. Because of inflexible sensors, narrow data acquisition spectrum, and an incompatible communication platform, the poor linkage between different components and low efficiency are unavoidable.In this paper, the demand of mine comprehensive monitoring system is analyzed, based on the current research situation of mine comprehensive monitoring system at home and abroad, and a new kind of mine monitoring plan is proposed based on ZigBee technique. The general construction and architecture are described in detail, the topology and principle of the DAQ (data acquisition) network in system are analyzed in the paper, and the mine comprehensive platform is constructed, combined with the high speed optical fiber Ethernet, providing the data transmission link for the other subsystems of the mine.The principle and design methodology of the nodes in the DAQ network are studied in this paper, and the software and hardware realization are described in detail. In completing the hardware, the importance of the high frequency impedance match is analyzed with applying the Smith chart to realize the impedance match in the wireless module. Meanwhile, the hardware of the motherboard, sensor, and ethernet module in the nodes are also outlined. The key part of the software is ZigBee router algorithm and its improvment for low power, then the protocol stack is transplanted into the nodes. The drive routines for the wireless chips and temperature/humidity sensors are coded. Finally, TCP/IP protocol is transplanted into the gateway and design a top layer communication protocol with its frame constitution.In the end, the demonstration of nodes is presented. With the analyses of power consumption of the DAQ ends, it is shown that the nodes have great flexibility and low power consumption. Therefore, it is applicable for the mine application and the overall design for the system will definitely be an excellent reference for developing the novel mine monitoring system.
