At present, coal is one of the world's three major energy sources, and the highest proportion. China is a major coal-producing country, but the mine disaster occurrence often. In recent years, with the demand of national economy for the increasing energy, The size and speed of China's coal mining has increased year by year, but the blind pursuit of data security and the neglect of non-security increase the risks of mine .In recent years China's coal mine safety accidents occurred frequently .The country property and the people's lives and property suffered huge losses. In 2004 the number of people who died in China coal mine accident is 6027. Coal production in 2004 accounted for 35% of world production, the death toll in coal mine accident death toll of the world's 80%.The death rate is one million tons of South Africa 30 times, 100 times the United States. In 2004, the mortality rate of million tons in mine accident was 3.07,ranking first in the world, is 100 times of the world average. However, the contrary is the that average annual capacity of a Chinese coal miners is 321 tons, only 8.1% of the South African miners at an average annual yield, 2.2% of U.S. miners. So ensure the working environment safety is a problem which need to solve peremptorily in coal-mining industry.Gas explosion is one of the main reasons which caused damage in Coal mine.In the mine safety, the gas density is a very important indicators, so we must get the environmental information of gas concentration as well as the temperature and humidity timely in order to guarantee the safety of mine work environment.Most of the mine safety monitoring system transmit signal though cable , routing in this way is too much trouble, the dependence of the lines are relatively strong, equipment installation and maintenance cost, the way like that own too much trouble, the dependence of the lines is relatively strong, the cost of equipment installation and maintenance is too much , the time when damage took place,we cannot get the effective information in order to search and rescure because equipment and cable are broken.Wireless sensor networks is a network which consist of a large number of micro-sensor network node, to the implementation of collaborative monitoring, sensing and environmental information collection and data processing, sent to the monitoring center. It is a combination of sensor technology, remote telemetry technology, embedded computing technology, distributed information processing technology and wireless communications technology, and take full advantage of the Ad Hoc network dynamics from the group, the characteristics of multi-hop.The communication and sensing nodes can be mobile, there is no need the laying of lines, simple operation, easy maintenance, low-cost network is all-round solution to coal, real-time monitoring of a viable approach.For coal mine gas accident happened frequently, t This paper mainly introduces the design of wireless sensor network node of temperature, humidity and gas concentration monitoring in the coal mine and realize of hardware and software design. Hardware design including the design of a portable collection terminal node and the base station sensor node design.Portable sensor node including the application of gas sensor circuit design, the application of temperature and humidity sensor circuit design, LCD display circuit design; power circuit design, the base station sensor node include RS485 industrial bus circuit design, as well as USB external interface design. Software design include collection of temperature, humidity and gas concentrations , communication of node. In addition, this article realize the design of wireless communication network based on IEEE802.15.4/ZigBee standards. At the same time, test the wireless sensor networks analyse the experiment data.The Design realize the collection and transmission of a coal mine gas concentration,temperature and humidity and other environmental information, complete the application of a wireless sensor network in the coal mine safety. reach the purpose of environmental monitoring, with innovative and practical, for the further application of wireless sensor networks in industrial production.
