The Research And Implementation Of Online Bookstore And Courseware System On Mongolian Distance Education Platform

The modern distance education is both a new mode of education which developing along with modern information technology and a major means to create life-long learning system in the age of knowledge and economy. Fully taking advantage of the modern internet information technology, the development of the distance education of Mongolian language is of significance to the improvement of Mongolian teaching quality and the promotion of the education in minority nationality regions.Combining XML and ASP.NET environment, this thesis studies and proves the possibility of establishment of Mongolian online bookstore and the development of Mongolian courseware system. Firstly, B/S structure includes client-side, Web server and database server. It is adopted in the design of the Mongolian Online Bookstore System, because of its advantages such as flexibility, independency and safety. This system provides a convenient book-purchasing channel for the students and teachers in remote Mongolian areas and meets their needs to browse books, search for books, choose books and purchase books. This thesis analyzes the technical problems which need to be solved in the systems introduced above, and gives the solution of these problems. These problems include Mongolian code, the vertical display problem, the storage and access problem, query problem of Mongolian data in dynamic website. Secondly, it is an introduction to XML technology. It presents and designs a developing system for XML-based sharable Mongolian courseware which is up to the CELTS standard. It also delves into the key technologies available in the process of systems implementation, which include courseware structure design, courseware metadata definition, courseware manifest description, courseware manipulation and Mongolian courseware display. This Mongolian courseware which is up to the CELTS standard system has lot of advantages such as easy manipulations and quick search. It's easy to share the media material among many educational resource database systems and improve the efficiency of media material utilization. Consequently, it can help the teachers prepare for lessons and the students independent learning.
