| The main application development platform in ABB Company has been Lotus Notes and there are over 400 applications build in Lotus Notes. But with the business development, data volume increasing and the more intensive requirement of rapid development and system integration, Lotus notes platform limitation is clearer and it couldn't fulfill our requirement now. Based on the problems we have, we need to build a next generation Business Process Management (BPM) platform, which will align with mainstream technology. The platform should be extensible and should provide workflow, unified user interface, documents storage and management, content publishing and data storage capabilities.Introducing a new technology and platform is not an easy job. To reduce the risk, we will start the project with the development of a pilot application to accumulate experience and consolidate our best practice for future migrations. The selected pilot application is Partner Information Management System. This project short term objective is migrate Partner Information Management System from Lotus Notes platform to .Net platform. When it finished, we will migrate all existing Lotus Notes applications to .Net platform.Partner Information Management System development includes three parts work: workflow development, business logic development and data storage, and integration with Partner Information Management System and SAP. My main job in this project is that implement the integration with Partner Information Management System and SAP. Taking into account the unification of technique platform, we select the Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 as the middleware to implement the integration of Partner Information Management System and SAP. Interface development work is like normal development work generally but it also has its trait. We use waterfall software development model in this interface development which including feasibility research and plan, requirement analyses, design, coding, test, deployment and maintenance. We will mainly discuss the Partner Information Management System solution, system architecture, requirement analyses and interface design in this paper.Finally, we will build a Business Process Management (BPM) platform which is based on .Net technique platform, implement the Partner Information Management System on the BPM platform and summarize the interface project implementation approaches, interface issue analysis method and the BizTalk Server configuration for some issue. In addition, I also discuss the interface problem I have encountered and give the solution from my side in this paper. |
