Global System for Mobile Communication is a short form of the digital mobile communication net, which is the most developed and advanced digital mobile communication system. This technology owns the largest scale, fastest developing speed and most valuable use for merchant, and the terminal unit——GSM telephone is the most popular among the mobile communicational products. With the developing and popularization of the communicational network, the application of the data business becoming more and more popular. Although the mobile communicational technology brings people to communicate, it is far from enough to realize more dreams of people, handle business while motioning for example. And now, the technology of GPRS supplies faster and more efficient data communication quality for the widely applied public communicational system. Especially in recent years, the mobile communication industries are flouring day by day, to make use of their advantage spontaneously on the research, desigh, manufacture and circulation, to improve their abilities in the competition to survive in this field.In the field of telephone manufacture, the efficient use and proper protection of the frequency resource is necessary for the good of nation's security and public's safety of life and property, to maintain the order of normal electric wave in the air, guarantee all kinds of wireless communicational devices work in right order. We need to lay strict management on the research, production, import, sales and use of these wireless communicational devices. The inspection of wireless devices assures the limited frequency resource can be explored and utilized scientifically and efficiently; could eliminate the radio interference from the source, to maintain the order of electric wave in the air, to assure the accurate operation of all kinds of wireless devices, and to keep the wireless devices management in order, all these depends on the accurate and dependable testing systems. So, these testing systems should satisfy the following standard: high level of automatization, high testing speed, test accurately and stably.Automatization could improve the efficiency; reduce the person's element of error in the testing process. All the tests are operated by remote control of the computers; run on the network automatically, the control of the devices and telephones, the automatic remote control of the instrument, to measure the data and record the graphs automatically and realize the electric management of the data and print the report list. The automatic operation of the program could avoid human's error, and reduce the random error by testing several times, and through analyzing large scales of result, we can find some defects of the system and then correct them. This kind of system integrative methodology is accord with the design ideals which make use of the combination of software and hard ware to satisfy special applications and high speed measurement requires.It is a plan which costs less and brings high quality.The automatically testing system which used to test the GSM/GPRS in this dissertation is applied in the automatic test system to sanction the wireless devices' models in the wireless device test department of The State Radio Monitoring Center. The author has a elaborate discussion on the structure and principles of the test system, on the management of the laboratory. More, the author have given out some suggestions on the improvement of the system and the developing trend in the near future.
