Research And Implementation Of Automatic Testing For Media Management Software

Adobe Bridge is media management software developed by Adobe Company, which enables file organization and sharing, and provides centralized access to project files, applications, and settings. With the increasing software scale and functions software testing has become the key to software quality assurance, and also software test automation has become the insurmountable development stage in the field of software testing.This thesis uses ESTK (Extend Script Tool Kit)-a scripting toolkit, PSF (Photoshop Framework)-an execution framework for batch of script, QMS (Quality Management System)-testing process management system to execute automatic testing on Adobe Bridge. By studying automatic testing technology along with analysis of this project, the thesis designs a complete automatic testing solution, which includes the following basic processes:testing plan, testing requirements'analysis, testing case design, testing script creation, environment building, testing case execution, records and analysis of test results. By means of automatic testing tools, this thesis carries out the basic function testing, verification for known issues, collocation for testing data, analysis for testing data, and finally generation for the relevant information and final testing report.63 testing scripts are created for the project, which help to find 32 bugs.16 of them are valid and fixed,11 of them are preserved for improvement in next version and the rest 5 are deferred or withdrawn. All of these scripts are applied in unit testing, integration testing and system testing on Adobe Bridge, which ensure the successful release, and also, they will be extended to the R&D of Adobe Bridge's next version, to support the development of new features and verification of original functions.
