Design And Application Of Engineering Project Management In Beijing Telecom Corporation

As the telecommunications is rapidly developing and the competition in this market is drastically severe, work of communication construction becomes more and more important. Meanwhile, the requirement of the telecommunications engineering is more rigorous. Equipped with the latest theory, advanced method, modern tools and excellent idea, referred to the relevant project management experience in many communication companies, this paper has designed a proper management procedure of telecommunications engineering project which is based on the real situation of Beijing Telecom Corporation and proofed to be practical. In addition, the paper has discussed how we can fulfill this process step by step in our engineering practices.The lifespan of Beijing Telecom engineering consists of four phrases in accordance with C-PMBOK theory: Startup, scheme, implementation and ending part. Therefore, project procedure can be made in the light of that for phrases. Then every phrase can be divided in the detailed control procedures and every procedure comprises concepts, documents, actions and results.The paper exerts the research system of combination of theory and application, taking the upgrading project of transmission network in Beijing Telecom Corporation in 2008 for example, compared with the four phrases of the procedures of project management, and studied the necessary framework of the every given phrase. The paper also highlights the general aspects in the project management of telecommunications and describes the significant actions of every control procedure based on the engineering implementation. The paper is characterized by practicality and valuable reference and is easily apprehensible through some examples of key project files.
