As an integral part of Security& Defense system,video surveillance system is seeing a rapid development with the technology innovation of embedded system, multimedia and computer network.The current embedded-system based network video surveillance system has a great prospect due to its better portability,lower cost, higher stability and better real-time feature,compared with the traditional video surveillance system.At the basis of describing the development status quo and trend of video surveillance,a solution of 32bit RISC processor based embedded network video surveillance has been raised in this paper.In the solution,the function of real-time video capture,encoding and transfer has been implemented on the EAX-400 platform, a product of Eflag company in Beijing.The paper stresses on the overall design and specific implementation of the system.On the part of hardware,a brief introduction of the feature and advantage of ARM architecture and the overall structure of EAX-400,as well as its main component,have been made.And for software,the embedded system development platform has been built,on which the programs of video capture based on v41 and the video compression based on optimized x264 have been designed.When it comes to video transfer,the structure of RTP/RTCP packets have been simplified,so have the implementation of RTSP and the RTP packetization of H.264 video.At last,an embedded web sever has been ported to the platform for connection from the browser on the web client to realize real-time video surveillance.
