The SAR is the new radar system developed after World War Two. UWB SAR gets the high range resolution by the broad signal and the high range bearing resolution by the Synthetic Aperture. SAR simulator can simulate the IF and RF signal in one aperture. It is the important part in the test system. It displays an very improve role in the development, debugging and capability evaluate process.This article introduces the principle of the SAR principle, has analyzed the characteristic of SAR echo and the difficulty in the high speed output and mass data storage, has proposed one effective design to simulate SAR echo. We discuss the general availability in the end.The plan based on the DDWS to produce broadband baseband signal, output the IF signal after the orthogonally modulation, produce RF signal by a frequency conversion module linked outside. This design will satisfy the SAR needs, provide various echo signals, and change the echo according the need.In the design, we use FPGA and MCU to control the system, which displays the flexible of the MCU and the high speed of the FPGA; Use the NAND type FLASH component to accomplish mass data storage; Use the USB2.0 to carry out the data exchange; Use VC to design a software interface and a touch screen to give the convenient to consumer. Because of the speed restricts we use multi-plate parallel data output scheme, which may promote the data output speed, improves system bandwidth. Set up the ECC/EDC for NAND type FLASH to increase the reliability of the system.
