Modern radar is an important representation as national defense strength. In the attacks and defense of strategy and tactics, radar plays a vital role. Radar receiver is an important part of the radar system, and the automatic test to its technical performance is indispensable means for its research, development, production, and maintenance.In this thesis, after the introduction of the application background of active phased array radar and the technique of VXI and GPIB, the operating principle of the VNA, spectrum analyzer, and other apparatus is described. Focused on the working characteristics of radar receivers and the test requirements of technical indicators, the scheme of radar receiver automatic test system (ATS) is proposed to meet the technical requirements including testing function and testing accuracy. The design and implementation of the hardware and software of the ATS are accomplished. The reliability and EMC performance of the system are analyzed. Finally, the feasibility and rationality of the system design are verified by the analysis of the system error and the result of actual test.At present, the automatic test system of the radar receiver had been delivered to use in some unit of the Air Force. High performance, practicality and reliability are achieved by the evaluation from users.
