The Study About Chinese Media's Report On Tibet Incident

There was a very serious violent incident planned by Dalai Group in Tibet Municipality On March, 14th, 2008, including fighting, smashing, robbing and burning. After it happened, the medias from all the countries focused on this incident. However, the most medias just believed Dalai's statements regardless of our governments'clarification and explanations as well as Chinese sensibility, and then reported lots of subreptions. Some of them even severely violated the occupation morality and basical rules of News industry, and issued lots of untruth and incorrect reports, which obviously betrayed Western media's so- called objectiveness and fairness. All the Chinese cannot understand why then can behave like this. What's more is why the Western support Dalai and condemn Chinese government? Of course, there are complicated reasons. The thesis explains the merit s and losses from News reporting angle when our medias reported"3.14"incident and analyze our medias'reporting loss on the incident.The thesis is intended to summarize our medias'deficiency on the report through the text analysis and content study. And then we can use it as a reference on our future report about abrupt political or minority incidents, a suggestion for the News policy's planner and director and a direction for the media working stuff.The thesis adopts the way of combining content analysis, text analysis and comparing analysis, which collect, analyze and calculate the first-handed materials about the reports on Tibet incident. The content analysis is about macroscopical phenomenon, and the text analysis is about microcosmic writing rule, while the comparing analysis emphasizes on the difference, so that we can get more systematic and comprehensive conclusion.The thesis contains five sections: The first section briefly and systematically introduces the theme and material-selecting standard of the article; The second section mainly analyzes the contents and gets a conclusion through the data statistics; The third section is about the text analysis and expects to get the invisible rule after analyzing the report on the Tibet incident one sentence by one sentence; The fourth section analyzes the course of the reporting effect on the Tibet incident and review some factor variables affecting the report, all of which can be regarded as the technique index on our report about the Tibet incident. The last section is the core part. After rational analysis and statistics, we can get a more objective analysis, meanwhile, which will also have instructing significance for the news reporting stuff.Although the research result is based on the statistics, the text and prophase analysis is still dependent on the author's own quality and ability. Therefore, there will be subjectivity and localization unavoidably, which is also the difficulty.
