Grinding technology, as a high-effective and economic modern machining technology for producing high-quality parts, is a more complicated frontier disciplines. Currently, abundant scientific data has been accumulated in grinding industry by carrying out series of national science & technology plan. However, the more prominent inconsistency between the abundant overstocking of data and the data users'growing requirement impedes the circulation and share of data resources for lack of effective management mechanism, unite standard and suitable data-exchange platform. So, it is extremely urgent to implement scientific data sharing project.This paper intends to study and build data sharing platform based on internet relying on the foundation sharing project"Scientific Data Sharing Network in Advanced Manufacturing and Automation". After more than one year's network testing, good result has been reached. It is essential to do further study for data sharing platform applying data mining technology in order to perfect the platform's service, to make good use of the data resources and to reduce the redundant data in database.This thesis first introduces the research background and aims of the subject and so on. Secondly, the system architecture of grinding data sharing platform and the component of data resources are designed according to the complexity of grinding process and object of shared platform. Grinding data resources are designed to be a resource set made up of many related factors including sharper, grinding fluids, grinding equipment and so on. Data level and user right are set in order to keep the data secure. Thirdly, the design of data warehouse and the realization process of on-line analytical processing system based on Web are discussed in order to increase interaction between the users on the client and shared platform, to realize better direction for users operating data, and to reduce the appearance of the redundant data. The steps are as follows: the subject of data warehouse is determined based on users'demands and the feature of data; with the grinding technology as an example, the corresponding conceptual model is designed based on the determined subject with the database modeling tool Power Designer; the physical model is realized by acquiring data that is relevant to the subject analyzed using ETL operation to database; on-line analytical processing system is designed and realized based on Web with the technology of on-line analytical processing (OLAP), ADO MD.NET and MS Office Web Components (OWC) in order to facilitate users'multi-dimensional analysis of the database and provide them with supportive services for abrasive machining. Finally, this thesis makes a conclusion and gives further research direction of the shared platform.This paper can offer a useful reference for other fields'research of scientific data share. And also lay the foundation for the application of data mining technology in grinding data sharing platform.
