From the beginning of 21st century, the disasters are frequently hitting our human' s nerve. From the "Sue Dan Red" food crisis and digression accident in Japan to the "Catalina" hurricane in America, all kinds of accidents greatly threaten the human' s safety and the society' s stability. How to deal with these sudden disasters and manage efficiently has been a very important issue to every government all over the world.In the meanwhile, the role of the media played in the course of crisis affairssolving changes a lot. Especially in the 911 Incident in 2001 and SARS in 2003, the impact of the media experiences a significant change. From these things, we discover that the media in China is no longer a simple mouthpiece or sounding board; instead it comes back to itself, to take its social responsibility as a media agent.Then, in crisis management of modern government, what is the role played by the media, what is its relationship with government. How the media places its influence, and what it means to crisis management of modern government? This thesis will begin to study the government crisis management in the world. extract some relevant government crisis management concepts. The function of the government in crisis management and media crisis management application. Through comparing and analyzing the role that media played in traditional and modern crisis management to explain the importance of media in the government crisis management, its mention practical recommendations with a view to setting up government and media crisis management cooperation mechanisms.
