The cloth taking-up device outward the loom is one kind of matching device of the loom. As the maxium cloth-roll diameter has no restrictions from the internal space of the loom, the cloth taking-up device can realize the fuction of large package, and the application of this device in the textile enterprises is increasing day by day. Cloth's winding quality and tension control during the fabric rolling process are the main performance indicators of the taking-up device. There're two kinds of driving modes-mechanical and frequency control-in the present domestic cloth taking-up device outward the loom, whose winding quality and tension control accuracy are not so good. According to the situation above, the main contents of this paper is to do a research on the tension control system of cloth taking-up device outward the loom and to show solutions.Two bottom rollers'surface-drived taking-up device outward the loom is the main objective in this paper. With the dynamic analysis on cloth roller and friction roller, the mathematic model of the whole tension control system is built, and the influencing factors of fabric tension are also analyzed. With the work done above, a design of the whole tension control system with double closed loop PID control algorithm is adopted at first. In order to overcome the defects of the design with conventional PID algorithm, just like difficult to set the parameters on time, bad control effects, big overshoot value.etc, a new design with PID control algorithm based on BP neural network is brought up, and carried ou by simulation at MATLAB. The simulation results show that: the new design with BP-PID control algorithm is very effective and significantly better than the conventional PID control's design.On the other hand, this article also builds the hardware modules and designs the software for the cloth taking-up control system. The tension network control system is built with SIEMENS S7-200 PLC, AC servo drivers and host-pc, which can meet the needs of distributed control. At the same time, a new method is proposed to apply the BP-PID control algorithm to the PLC controlling by WinCC configuration software, another new digital filtering method based on the normal distribution.is proposed too.All the work which has been done provides a viable mean for the system running.
