Strands and rope laying equipment is the main factory equipment of Ningxia Hengli Steel Wire Rope Co., Ltd., owns the leading position in the country, but with similar equipment abroad at the level of automation, there is still a certain gap. Taking-up and rolling machine is a part of the original system and once the arranging speed changes, mechanized strands and rope laying equipment will not be able to promptly change and can not achieve the desired tacking and anti-jamming performance requirements. Against its original tension control system enhancements:the Ziegler-Nichols control algorithm based on PID is proposed.First of all, according to this continuous extrusion production line control purposes, at the scene of the system structure, specific operating mode is summed up. In constant tension control mode, the working principle and control process is proposed. On this basis of analyzing on control principles, methods and causes of tension by taking-up and rolling machine, as well as the importance of tension control in the whole system, the open-loop tension control is realized.According to the actual situation at the scene, the paper put forward the tension control system structure. The field PID controller is used, existing the poor PID parameters tuning, poor performance and poor adaptability on the operating status. The Ziegler-Nichols tuning method is proposed:When the process, process variables and the pace of change has changed, the established experience formula turns these test results into the correct of parameters settings.The speed models of frequency converter, taking-up and rolling machine, as well as the tension model are established. Based on the Ziegler-Nichols tuning, the tension control system block diagram of the simulation is made, simulation results shows that the Ziegler-Nichols controller settings response excellent dynamic tracking performance, small overshooting, good steady-state performance, and a strong adaptability. It has increased the tension control level, effectively ensured the quality and output with an important practical significance and theoretical value.
