With the development of electric and electronic technology, microelectronic technique and control theory, the electric control system gets the extensive application in engineering day by day. The Rapier Loom is one of the strongest shuttleless looms of adaptability. The research and application of the technology of Electronic picking, electronic take-up and electronic let-off is the developing direction of Rapier Loom. In this paper, the main part of the Rapier Loom' s electrical control system is carried out systemically. Including picking control system designed by Two-Chip structure controller and system of let-off & take-up motion based on servo control. And some deep research on tension control and start mark compensation. The main ideas in every chapter is as follows:The first chapter expounds the purpose of this paper firstly and summarizes the development of the shuttleless looms in the world, then put forward the current situation of the development of the domestic loom and development tactics.The second chapter introduces the principle of Rapier Loom firstly, on this basic designed the electronic control system and software.The third chapter introduces the design and realization of picking control system.The fourth chapter finishes some research and design of let-off & take-up motions based on servo control. The specific application in engineering and tension control are also introduced.The fifth chapter discusses an improvement algorithm for the let-off tension control and how to control the start mark compensation.At last, the technology and research of the control system of Rapier Loom are summarized. The study of the paper will give much improvement to the loom development of our country.
