One of important equipments in the engineer room is the multi-stage centrifugal pumps, mainly used for the high head occasion, which can deal with the sea water, the ballast water; the boiler feed water; the bilge water; the fire water and oils, etc. Once mismanagement, it would out of order, and affected the normal operation of the machines. Therefore, through repeated dismantling and assembling the skilled mastery of multi-stage centrifugal pump structure and working principle is very important.In this paper the multi-stage centrifugal pumps was taken as the researched object. Combined the technology of virtual reality and dismantling and assembling course. Set up of dimensional model of spare parts of centrifugal pump with Creator, as well as to realize the walkthrough dismantling and assembling in virtual environment by configuring and rendering the model with the visual driver design Vega. Applied this technology in Marine Engineering education & training, the dismantling and assembling of shipping facilities can be reproduced exactly, and it reduced the damage of facilities during the dismantling and assembling, The students can dismantle and fit repeatedly, therefore, a good man-mac?? cooperation can be achieved.The followings are what we want to discuss in this paper:First, through the introduction on research and application situation of domestic and overseas virtual reality technology and walkthrough system, this text illustrates the significance of the topic in reality, puts forward the overall design and realizing method of virtual dismantling and assembling of Marine Centrifugal Pump and evaluation system development.Then, choose Marine Centrifugal Pump as object of simulation, using advanced technology of Creator to build the model of various parts. Multiple ways are adopted in the course of model building such as DOF; quote and texture mapping technology etc. After models of all components are finished, reused Creator to assemble models determined the final size after the further alteration. Taken advantage of Lynx image interface technology, configured and rendered the object of model, adept the Vega and API function compiled by C language based on Lynx, to realize the walkthrough drive of image by real time efficient interactive control of virtual scene through these functions.Finally, according to demand analysis of evaluation system, to develop the evaluation system of dismantling and assembling course with VC++6.0 software tool. On the exploited evaluation system, when students login in the interface, through key control and mouse control, they can simulate the course of dismantling and assembling to achieve the result of man-machine interaction. The dismantling and assembling of centrifugal pump can be reproduced exactly. As established evaluation criteria, the evaluation results are to be given to dismantling and assembling course.
