With the rapid development of broadband network access technology and increasing popularity of the Internet,home network users are increasing the demand for media entertainment,in the meanwhile video download has become one of the largest network service demand in succession to audio. However, today's home network users mostly rely on ordinary Personal Computer to download video entertainment resources form the Internet. Sometimes home network users have to keep the computer working day and night especially for the audio/video files containing large amount of data such as high-definition movies,which not only result in larger energy consumption and noise pollution in a long time, but waste the powerful processing capacity of Personal Computer. At the same time, there are more and more family in possession of more than two Personal Computers in the first class cities, so home internal network security issues and the needs of resource-sharing come into being. However, considering the aspects such as hardware cost, operating cost and space usage etc, it is obviously inappropriate for an ordinary family that home network users purchase a separate Personal Computer to build a proxy server. In this practical context, the thesis design and develop the embedded home media proxy server based on hybrid control architecture, which is based upon embedded Linux technology. It is a multi-function embedded product which integrates at least three functions such as network proxy,resources download and storage management.With low-cost,low power consumption,no noise,small size,easy-to-use and other advantages,it supports a wide range of P2P download protocol such as BT and eMule, and can be working independent from Personal Computers day and night.Download from the Internet is particularly suitable for the media resource files containing large amount of data and it provides an online data platform for home users to achieve information integration and sharing of resources of data terminals in the family.This thesis gives the design of hardware platform form the start,selects S3C2440A microprocessor of ARM920T core as a target CPU considering the factors of application environment,processor performance, etc.and then according to the system needs designs the hardware module interface circuit using the modular design idea.First of all parts of software systems structure it details development processes of the system software for embedded Linux platform,including the production of ARM-Linux cross-compiler tool chain,the transplantation of U-Boot,Linux2.6 kernel transplantation and the production of root file system and then introduces the design of software system architecture and application implementation methods in detail,in order to achieve a embedded mini-web server of B/S and C/S hybrid control architecture.At the end of the thesis,the thesis summarizes the work done and gives the discussion of some future directions to be perfect.Based on in-depth study of embedded system development processes and key technologies,this thesis presents the overall implementation scheme of the embedded home media proxy server of hybrid control architectue based upon ARM-Linux development model and has developed a prototype.The products meet the practical needs of Chinese families and have good practical value and application prospects.
