From the harmonic suppression, this article study Hybrid Active Power Filter(HAPF)operating performance. First of all, according to the classification of APF this article gave topologies, set out its working principle and compensation from the analysis of the characteristics of APF for different adaptive harmonic source. Then, based on the instantaneous reactive power theory of harmonic and reactive current detection principle of an in-depth analysis on the basis of the three methods through research, this article chosen i p ? iq harmonic detection method. At the same time, through their characteristics and simulation wave a choice of hysterics compared with control strategy this article analysis the two most commonly used APF control strategy. Then this article discussed the HAPF design parameters of the main circuit, a MATLAB simulation models, including the main circuit simulation models, instruction current detection model, hysterics model comparison, the passive model of the filter and load mutation. At last, on MATLAB simulation software, it had several run performance of the simulation.
