Along with the rapid development of electrified railways, the characteristics of traction load influence power quality of electric power system,so harmonics restraint of traction power system has important significance.This paper firstly compares the topological structures of APF, and gives the scheme suitable for traction power system. Secondly, based on the analysis of existing APF harmonic current detection methods, two factors should be considered:the dynamic response speed and precision, and gives the detection methods suitable for electrified railways.Then it analyses the control problem of APF,including the control strategy of APF,the control mode of current tracking control circuit and control method of the dc capacitor voltage, and gives the suitable control methods. Finally, the simulantion model of traction power system including hybrid active power filter is built to verify that the filter solution can effectively improve power quality of the traction power system.
