Active power filter (APF) is the modern power electronic equipment for eliminating harmonics and compensating reactive power in power systems. It has a good dynamic compensation performance, and many advantages compared with the passive filters. But there is also compensation for capacity is small, the shortcomings of high cost. Solid-state combination switch is developed by China Electric Power Research Institute. It is a new type of capacitor switching switch, by switching capacitor to compensating large-capacity reactive power. This thesis analyzed a shunt hybrid active power filter system based on a combination of the APF and solid-state combination switch.This thesis describes a shunt hybrid active power filter topology and operating principle, and then, the thesis introduces active power filter and solid-state combination switch control strategy and principle. Active power filter instruction current operation circuit is using the ip-iq method, and the current tracking control circuit is using the triangular wave comparison method. The DC side voltage pi regulation has been improved to reduce the capacitor voltage impulse current.By making use of MATLAB simulation software, the control strategy, the compensation performance and dynamic response performance of the system are analyzed. Simulation results show that the active power filter and solid-state combination switches in shunt hybrid has a good compensation performance. The shunt hybrid APF contains the good dynamic compensation performance of the APF and higher power level of the solid-state combination switch. So it can reduce the cost of the system and improve the efficiency.In addition, the thesis introduces the solid-state combination switch hardware circuit, debugging process, and records the low voltage and high voltage test. The solid-state combination switch can frequent switching in the voltage zero crossing, and it has no disturbance current characteristics.
