With the development of CMOS technology and solid image sensors, CMOS image sensor has been characteristics of mature processing, high dynamic ,lower product cost , lower power, strongly integration, lower noise. It has been applied to a great many fields such as multimedia, industrial detection, digital imaging, satellite remote sensing, safeguard, automobile airbag ,fingerprint identification and medicine .As the research and development CMOS Image Sensor is at the beginning in china, the study of this project will make great sense in theoretic and have a wider market. This dissertation introduces the design and implement of a digital system of a high integration SoC (System on a Chip) CMOS image sensor . There will be low hardware cost , high anti-jamming ability, small bulk and lower power consumption with the SoC image sensor. The SoC image sensor includes pixel array, analog circuits, Analog-to-Digital Convertor and image processer, and the image processing module achieves the functions of bad pixel detection and compensation, color recovery, color correction, gamma correction, color space conversion, auto white balance and realtime image magnification. Besides, the chip integrates the timing controller, clock devider, special registers and I2C bus interface controller. The master will access the register of the image sensor through I2C bus.The image sensor designed in this paper is realized on Tower 0.18μm CMOS process, with VGA resolution,it has the ratio of 30 frames per second at 27MHz input clock frequency . Following Top-Down IC design method, the design is divided into several sub-modules,which are described in Verilog Language. And then the functional simulations, logic synthesis, and gate-level simulation is completed for the final layout of the chip.
