OA Medical Resource Database Construction

The 20th century 90's,Open Access Movement(the former Free Online Scholarship Movements) appeared in Western countries.It is well known that the new academic exchanged ideas and mechanism in network were given to more and more attention in recent years.However,the development of open access(OA) movement in our country has been slowly,and there was phenomenon that theory realm was relatively activity while real practice was few in organizations or institutions.With the development of modern science and technology,the characteristic is more and more obvious that the quantity and format of medical technology research findings are increasing.In order to promote medical academic exchange activities,we need to clearly understand the current situations of OA and know important medical information resources from OA all over the world.At the same time,we should change own medical resources into OA resources for teachers and students to refer and access.So,it becomes more and more important to create OA medical resources net and OA medical resources database.This research design and create a Net OA medical resources and databases as the main content.Its purpose was to guide our students to access to the information they need by visiting the Net OA medical resources and OA medical resources database.First,this article did some research on the background of OA,and in turn generated real reason of OA.It also introduced the current technology of the database,which established the theoretical foundation.Second,by analyzing question of OA medical resources and combining with the aim and object of this research,this article proposed to set up the design idea of Net OA medical resources and OA medical resources database.Finally,this Net OA medical resources and OA medical resources database was constructed according to the design.The aim of present study was to design and create the OA medical resources net and database,and lead the teachers and students of our university to take the information freely from it.Firstly,our study introduced the backgrounds,generating reasons and developing overview of OA.It offered substantial rationales for the creation of OA medical resources net and database. Secondly,our study analyzed the questions of current medical resources, combined with object of the research,adopted access technology and proposed the design concept of OA medical resources net and database.Finally,we created the OA medical resources net and database according to above-mentioned ideas.The OA medical resource net is designed with Dreamweaver MX.and based on Microsoft Windows 2000 Server/IE 6.0.Its web server was IIS.OA medical resources database used Access 2000 software to program and Net OA medical resources used ASP to program.This system selected SQL to enquiry datum in the database system.It also adopted B/S model to manage and operate. Additionally,the medical resources in this database were from departments of this school.It mainly contained resources of thesis,audio files,video files,and courseware.It is very important significance that the creation of the OA medical resources net and database enable teachers and students to obtain medical information with barrier-free from over university or outside.
