It has a point-to-multipoint architecture and provides multi-services based on Ethernet. It combines the advantages of PON and Ethernet technology. With its features of high bandwidth, low cost and could be used and updated easily, EPON becomes the best solution for the next generation access network.With the developing of Internet and the wide use of notebook PC and handset, people are eager to contact Internet at anytime and anyplace. The demand of market and the establishment of IEEE802.11 standards lead the local area network to be wireless. WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) not only has high communication speed, but also has many other advantages.
