In this paper,due to the shortage of time-consuming,high cost and inefficient of the traditional shoes' design,the study research the thought and method of designing shoes in three-dimension based on the knowledge of shoe CAD technology,develop the shoe-style design software.This paper starts with the basic process and steps of shoe-design,and then study the problems in shoe CAD/CAM.Combined with the steps of shoe-design,propose the ideas and functions of system in this paper.This study resolved the problems of the automatic position of the design plane, human-computer interaction sketch design,the automatic replication and trimming of surface to develop a shoe-style design CAD system.Because any three-dimension patterns are the projects on the two-dimension plane,the plane is very important to make the pattern more reality.And human-computer interaction sketch design can make it more effective to shoe-style design.Then the paper introduced the scheme of overall shoe-style CAD system and the division of software modules which are the automatic position of the design plane,human-computer interaction sketch design,the projection from the sketch profiles onto the shoe-last surface,the automatic replication and trimming of surface,the surface rendering and the management of the designing process.Then the paper introduced the function,the principle, programming and the basic using method of each module in detail.At last,the DLL is applied to carry on the SoildWorks secondary development and the shoes-style design CAD prototype system with user's interface style of windows figure is developed.Some examples designed using the CAD system are given,and it can meet the need of shoe-style design.The software has been obtained the software copyright.
