The overturn fixture is an important tool on the auto main reducer assembly line. It is a useful tool when assembling the differential. But at present, the design way is still rest on the two-dimension stage. The workload is very great. The design isn't intuitionistic and the errors can not be found easily. With the development of three-dimensional graphics and computer technology, the three-dimensional design has become an inevitable tendency in CAD application field. At present, the application of three-dimensional CAD techniques on overturn fixture is still at the groping phase.Overturn fixture has several series. The design of overturn fixture is standard. The main difference between the same series is just parameters and substructure. Overall structure is similar. If engineers want to design different type of the same series, they needn't restart the design. What they should do is just some similarity serial design based on the basic design. The function similarity, the structure similarity and the standard parts provide the condition for doing parametric serial similar design. Through the fast modification of these parts model, they can design 3D parts model of new products and assembles easily and efficiently.In this paper, with the study of the structure of overturn fixture, the design process and the design method, the 3D design system of overturn fixture is designed based on the 3D design platform-SolidWorks and database-Access 2003, using the API of SolidWordks and VisualBasic6.0. This system combines the engineer's design experience and the theory of structure design, considers the practical requirements of enterprise, and adopts the object-oriented technology and modular design technology.In this thesis, the overturn fixture of the auto main reducer assembly line parameterized design system is developed with a user-friendly interface which is easy to use and understand. The Model in the system is built automatically with interference check. Engineering drawings is updated automatically. It not only makes the design efficient and quick, but also meets the needs of the modem design technique. The techniques discussed in this thesis provide an advanced, reliable and rapid design approach for the overturn fixture.
