Along with the development of multimedia technology and the popularity of the Internet, modern education puts forward many challenges to the traditional teaching. The emergence of large number of the network curriculum, promote the development of the network teaching greatly. However, the current network course still exist some disadvantages in its design, ignoring the support of diverse learning activities, which influence the effect of network education. As an inquiry-based learning mode, Project-Based Learning emphasizes the development of the learners. And the advantages of the network provide more favourable conditions for conducting the activities which based on project-based learning. The research on the PBL network course has much theoretical significance and practical value. According to the existing problems in the network course, the paper proposed the method of constructing network course taking the theory of project-based learning as its teaching idea and teaching strategies, especially the research of its design method. The paper researches mainly from the aspects of instructional design and software design, which aims to give the systemic design method providing preference to the construct of the PBL network course.Case analysis method, document analysis method, system scientific method, instructional design method and object-oriented software design method are used in the research. The mainly work of the study are as follows.1. Relevant literature research. Using the network to search on the network database and consulting large number of literature to analyzing the current research at home and abroad of the Project-based learning, also the deficiency of the current network course. Propose the necessity and feasibility of constructing the network course based on PBL.2. The basic analysis of PBL network course. Give the theoretical foundation of the system design, and analyses the related case based on consulting large number of literature. Finally, the paper discusses the goals and principles of the PBL network course, and construct the reasech model of the paper.3. Instructional design of the PBL network course. Under the guidance of the "study" as the center of instructional design and the PBL instructional design, the paper analyzes the goals and principles of the PBL network course instructional design, constructs the instructional design model.4. Software design of the PBL network course. System architecture and functional modules are designed on the perspective of software engineering. 5. The development of examples. Under the guidance of the PBL network course design methodology, develops the example of PBL network course.Research achievements are made in the follow respects through the work on theory, design and practice.1. The paper defines the concept of the PBL network course; take constructivist learning theory, system scientific theory, instructional design theory and software design theory as the theoretical basis. Researching the PBL network course from the aspects of instructional design and software design, and finally give the design model.2. The paper constructs the instructional design model, which considers that the PBL network course should be designed in the several links, such as the analysis of the teaching contents, learner analysis and teaching goals, the creation of the programe, learning environment design, learning activities design and evaluation design.3. The paper constructs the software design model of the PBL network course, which considers that the system should be adopted the three-tier system architecture, and divided into several major subsystems and give their detail design, including the management subsystem, the course subsystem, the project-supported subsystem and the project-learning activities subsystem.4. Develop an example of the network course based on PBL, applicating the design method and model of the PBL network course, and finally verifies their feasibility and effectiveness.The work in the future is to further perfect the design of the learning environment and the learning activities.
