With the development of microelectronics,computer vision and automation technologies,reverse engineering technology is being applied in more and more fields, such as manufacturing,archeology,geology etc,due to its reconstruction function that an existing object can be reproducted via its reconstructed 3D model gotten by means of 3D measurement system.However,there are many problems exsited in current 3D measurement systems,which are low measuring speed,poor real-time,and so on.For improving the measurement efficiency,the laser 3D scanning system used in laborarory is studied,and some features of digital multimedia processor DM642,which is the shortened form of TMS320DM642 and produced in Texas Instruments Inc,"TI" for short,is taken as the main reference,and the video processing system for the laser 3D scanning system is designed and realized.The application of the presented embedded system results in higher efficiency and integration of the laser 3D system with surface scanning and data processing.The main contributions of the thesis include follows:Firstly,according to the design requirement of embedded video processing system, the development process and the general scheme of system hardware are given.The realizing method for the hardware is simply introduced,and hardware modules consisting of the system are presented in detail,and the video processing system is realized in terms of physics.Secondly,the sofeware designs of the video processing system are introduced, which includes the underlying hardware driver,application programme etc.Based on real-time operation system DSP/BIOS and TI's RF5 shortened from reference framework 5,the programme design is achieved through setting different tasks for functional modules of application programme.The sofeware tests for modules of the system are done one by one,and the integration of software and hardware is completed.Finally,after the coordinating test of software and hardware,the function that video images are captured,processed by DM642,and output through network,is achieved.The stability and reliability of the video processing system are demonstrated by the successful results.The presented video processing system is used in the laser 3D surface scanning system at last.And,the design task of the subject is preliminarily finished. At the end of the paper,the scheme of improving the video processing system is put forward,and,further development of the algorithm about image is proposed.
