Because of the excellent insulated characteristic of SF6 (Sulfur Hexafluoride), it is widely applied to power system, such as the gas insulated breaker and gas insulated switchgear (GIS). However, SF6 leakage usually becomes the biggest problem in these systems. The leakage problems not only reduce the lifetime of devices, even cause system failure, also result in greenhouse effect. Meanwhile because SF6 can’t be seen and smelled makes this kind leakage hard to be detected, especially, to find the direct leakage hole.This dissertation introduces a method of SF6 leakage detection based on laser imaging technique. The whole system includes: signal conditioning circuit, laser scanning control system, high-speed data acquisition system, video display software in PC. After introducs the total design of system, this dissertation introducs the laser scanning control board detailly in both hardware and software. This board adopts singl chip and CPLD as main control units, and using uC/OS-II, integrates functions of laser temperature control, laser power duty control, X、Y axises sync scanning, system security etc. Meanwhile laser scanning control board communicates high-speed data acquisition board by I2C bus.
