Wireless Sensor Networks are consisted of many low-cost and tiny sensor nodes which have the function of data collection,wireless communication,Ad Hoc network. Through randomly deploying in monitoring area,WSNs can achieve the target of real-time data monitoring and the effective transmission of this area.In the condition of cruelly environment,no one in his duty,resource-constrained wireless sensor networks shows the great value.It can acquire physical information effectively and objectively.Wireless sensor networks have very broad application prospects.It can be applied to military defence,Agricultural and industrial control,city management, Intelligent home,biology and medical care,environment detected terrain.In recent years,accompanied by application extension of wireless sensor networks how to providing QoS support in wireless sensor networks has became to problem which need to solute immediately.A growing numbers of scholars studied how to meet QoS requirements in wireless sensor networks.The key problem is to design a stable and efficient QoS routing protocol.On the other hand,the computing power and storage capacity of wireless sensor networks are low,and its energy is limited,so the routing protocol should be simple,which increase the design difficulty of wireless sensor networks routing protocol.The research work and innovation of this thesis are as follows:(1) The thesis makes research and simulations for the classic routing protocols in wireless sensor networks.(2) The thesis improves LEACH protocol.The improved protocol can balance the energy consumption of noeds and effectively prolong the lifetime of the whole networks.(3) The problem of implementing QoS routing is studied in this thesis,and the author researches that how to satisfy QoS requirements from the aspects of QoS routing tactics,QoS mechanism,QoS routing protocols and the parameters of QoS implementation.(4) The author proposes a new real-time and energy-aware routing protocol REDD(Real-time and Energy-aware Directed Diffusion).REDD is based on classic DD protocol.REDD set up a number of paths from source node to Sink node using the metrics of real-time and residual energy of nodes. Relatively high real-time information is transferred along the path of minimum hops. The simulation result shows that the improved protocol can provide real-time transmission service,balance energy consumption of nodes and prolong the lifetime of network.This thesis is supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China (approval number:60773211,60672137),the Ph.D.Programs Foundation of Ministry of Education of China(approval number:20060497015) and by Program for New Century Excellent Talents in university(approval number:NCET-08-0806).
