Internet reconfigurable logic (IRL) is a design methodology which can remotely update and dynamically reconfigure the hardware and software environment of the target system. This new design methodology can remarkably reduce the cost of equipment maintenance and the time to market. It creates a new Internet-based business model which has been adopted by many network equipments. FPGA-based system of SOPC solution provides all the necessary components and resources for the construction of a wide range of embedded network system. It not only makes full use of the FPGA's reconfigurable logic characteristics, but also has microprocessor cores, rich IP core resources, as well as flexible and scalable software components. In this paper, an IRL system based on SOPC technology was designed and implemented. This system adopts the new chip-configuration technology of System ACE configuration, which makes Web-based remote reconstruction more flexible and reliable. The system design makes full use of the available mature IP cores, which greatly reduce the system design complexity. Moreover, the modular soft-core makes the upgrade, reconstruction and maintenance of the application system simpler and easier.
