Image tracking is the technology that can automatically recognize targets from image signals in real time, extract targets'positional information and track their movements, so it finds wide application in modern military.The high-resolution image tracker adopts the modularization design method and parallel processing technology, the hardware structure of which comprises large-scale FPGA and four TMS320C6416Ts. The high-resolution digital camera and VGA monitor are selected to improve the precision of detection and tracking of target image, therefore the target tracking can be implemented in complex background. The design and implementation of FPGA are researched deeply in the paper, including the module of image data packet analysis, the controller of image processing memory, the controller of image display memory, the controller of VGA image display, the module of local image contrast enhancement, the module of characters superposition and the module of image smooth filtering.PCI Express is the third generation IO bus with high performance. There are two design methods of PCI Express bus module. An implementation scheme of PCI Express bus module based on PEX8311 is proposed in the paper, with its hardware structure designed.
