Target recognition and tracking technology is currently the focus direction of the image processing research,has extensive application value in the field of military and civilian,such as precision-guided weapons,missile early waring plane,such as ciiminal investigation of civilian areas.Thereinto,extraction,recognition and tracking of specific goal from the complex background,urgently needs to solve the problem.This paper introduces the domestic and foreign research present situation and the development trend of image tracking system and basic composition and woring principle of image tracker,function and performance requirements in detail.This paper designed the image tracking system based on DSP+FPGA and carried out experimental verification,the main work includes:1)In this paper,the design of image tracking system is mainly composed of image tracking circuit,communication control circuit,at a high speed DSP+FPGA as the processing core,to build high-performance video tracking and communication platform,to complete the video image data acquisition,processing,character overlay and output function to realize real-time tracking of the target of interest,as well as other components of the communication control and other functions.The principle of hardware circuit diagram and the detailed design method are also given in this paper.2)Image tracking system adopts double DSP software design work mode,DSP-1mainly takes image tracking algorithm,suspicious target detection algorithm and the output task of location information of target with high real-time requirements;DSP-2 mainly takes the tasks of not high real-time demand such as the control of communication and the control of characters etc.3)The Suspicious weak small targets of sea alarm function uses the algorithm of top-hat detection and the historical trajectory information to improve the detection rate and to lower false alarm rate.The Realizing of the ground target tracking function adopts frequency tracking algorithm to effectively solve the problem of shade,the interference of background etc.The experiment of suspicious target detection and the ground target tracking was carried out in the actual flight.Experimental results show that the design of the image system works stability,target tracking ability and strong anti-interference with satisfing the requirements of system functions and performance.
