Research And Implementation Of Goal-Driven Software Process Metric Model

Software process metric has become the focus of international research of software engineering. How to produce quality software on time and within budget has been a major concern of software industry for several decades. Applying process metric in the software process has been an important way to manage the software process. The organization can improve process with the help of the process metric and finally get a steady and effective process.In this paper,a goal-driven software process metric model, P-PSMAA, is constructed, which is a metric model for software process based on the Goal-Question-Metric paradigm. The shortcomings of GQM such as the bad maneuverability and the bad repetition is analyzed in the paper and a useful process metric model is constructed depending on the organization process database. A four elements combination is carried out to describe the model, which consists of four parts: metric prepare, GQM plan make up, metric actualize, metric use. P-PSMAA can avoid some of the shortcomings in GQIM, and also bring a realizable supervise to the organization process metric.Finally, an example of applying P-PSMAA to metric the configuration management of CMMI2 is given, which is carried out on the process metric module of Project Process Management System.
