Research Of Metric Based On CMMI Software Process Improvement And Its Supporting Environment

The Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI), the template provided by the software Engineering Institution of Carnegie Mellon University, is applied to management, improvement and evaluation on software process. The aim of CMMI is the improvement on software process. Software process metric is indispensable to software process improvement, and the research of this has very important significance.The template of CMMI is just a general frame, so it may be difficult to be put into practice when the organizations take effort on improving the software improvement. In the thesis, through the improvement on goal driven modeling of process metric, a template is put forward which is more available and customizable. The modeling of metric based on the modeling of process makes a balance between the two aspects. Furthermore, a complete definition of the new method, based on the utter research of GQM and GQIM, is offered in the thesis, and has been come into use in the level of CMMI3. Also the method and outcome of metric has been analyzed which contributes to the improved and controlled process.In the latter of the thesis, a prototype tool, named as P-AMT, has been designed. It may do well to the organizations that want to improve the software progress step by step.
