With the rapid development of network, a variety of network equipments appeared. As each management system of equipment is independent, it's hard to exchange information among the separate management systems. The network server is the key equipment in network application. Web-Based Enterprise Management standard is able to abstract data by multi-protocol from multi-sources, strengthen the management capacity and enable them through a single deal. Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) is Windows operating system components, to allow the programming approach to corporate environment management information.Based on the new requirements and the development of the new technology, and the analysis of the Web-based network management, the author proposes a unified and Object-oriented network management system model ,and designs a unified framework to achieve the network, equipment, Application procedures and other resources in the unified management. The author also designs the COM interface based on the Java language, and develops a Windows service monitoring system.This paper gives the research of the Web-based network management technology:WBEM standards and WMI technology. The paper proposes a overall design of the system based on the analysis of the use case, and gives a detailed description of the design of the core technology, including the verification framework and the design of the DCOM and the WMI remote access. For data collection,the paper gives a detail implementation of COM interface, raises a model of the WMI object, and expoundeds the implementation of the WMI business. Finally,the paper summarizes the work and gives a view on the improvement of the system.
