Design And Implementation Of Digital Cultural Relic Museum System By XML And Metadata

Recently, in globe economic environment, cultural relic museum confronted with challenge. Compared to traditional cultural relic museum, digital cultural relic museum have many advantages, as it can assist user to know all the aspects, it is also conducive to retention of relic. However, digital cultural relic museum was invented only several years,it has not perfect schemes.Based on Detailed analysis on the application characteristics of XML metadata and its key elements, an specific program for digital museum system, considering issues related to the various factors, constraints and problems,is designed. A new metadata standard, based on its own heritage data characteristics of XML and metadata technology, is developed to improve information search, performance and resource sharing capabilities. The data can store in some database but can search in one database. Because XML metadata database itself has a barrier to heritage data and by adoptiing a new three-tier architecture, which as a result, heritage database and users are not communicated directly, thus the system security is greatly enhanced.Operating system platform has developed digital cultural relic museum system based on XML and metadata in Windows in the XP implements and puts into the use, the specific use development kit is Java. At the same time, in the purpose of further meeting using demands, this System uses JSP and Servlet, makes it having many functions on uploading, validating, deleting, searching and so on. The practice proved this system has the good compatibility and the usability.
