As a form that can be perceived and carried meanings,communication symbols are the essential tools for human beings to disseminate information and communicate emotions.Different from newspapers with mainly written language symbols and radio programs with mainly sound symbols,the characteristics of the combination of sound and painting make television communication symbols more complicated and diversified,and academic circles has paid more and more attention to this topic.Cultural TV programs have entered an era which likes a hundred flowers blossom since 2017,and began to be led by CCTV to local television stations,this kind of program becomes “a clear stream” in the field of TV programs under the pan-entertainment situation.After the major cultural relic and museum discovery program named National Treasure launched by CCTV in late 2017,it welcomed by a growing number of people,and also opened up the new situation of the development of cultural relic and museum TV programs in the vertical segmentation category of cultural TV programs.A batch of excellent original TV programs have also been broadcast,such as Win in the Museum and On the New Palace Museum.These programs which major based on the subject of cultural relic and museum combine their cultural and entertainment attributes.By means of competitions,explorations and performances,to make the traditional culture more closer to the appreciation and interest of popular culture.The popularization of traditional culture and cultural relics has produced remarkable effect,and also obtained the extremely high social evaluation.In addition,The year 2020 marks the Forbidden City has been built 600 years and the Palace Museum has been founded 95 years,and the Palace Museum has carried out a series of cultural publicity and commemorative activities.This article is based on this phenomenon,selected the cultural relic and museum TV program On the Palace Museum as the research object,which has been produced by BTV and the Palace Museum.From the perspective of communication semiotics,delved the unique communication symbols and problems in the process of symbolization in cultural relic and museum TV programs,follow the basic logic of what communication symbols are in the program text--what are the meanings of these communication symbols--what channels are the symbolic meanings propagated--how to further optimize communication symbols,and analyzing types of communication symbols that presented in this program,the expression of communication symbol meanings and the optimization suggestion of communication symbols by using literature analysis,case study and text analysis.The full text is divided into four chapters,specifically,the first chapter briefly introduces the related theories of communication semiotics involved in the article,the definition,classification and development course of cultural relic and museum TV programs,and On the New Palace Museum.The second chapter begins with the analysis of On the New Palace Museum as a research case,in integrating the presentation of TV programs and with the help of semiotics,starting from the two aspects of linguistic symbols and nonverbal symbols,to make a concrete analysis of the communication symbols that presented in the nine major programs in the first season of On the New Palace Museum.The third chapter introduces the most important theoretical category of explanation item in Pierce's ternary communication symbol view,which includes three aspects: intention explanation item,validity explanation item and common explanation item,combining with the communicators and audiences as the main body of communication,this paper analyzes concretely the meaning expressed by the text symbol of the program and the channel of the symbol meaning transmission from the point of view of the program group and the audience.The fourth chapter focuses on returning to cultural relic and museum TV programs,synthesizing the research contents of the previous three chapters,thinking about the current cultural relic and museum TV programs,it is foundthat there are problems of improper use of communication symbols and homogeneity of symbols in this kind of TV programs,and try to put forward the suggestion of optimizing the deficiency of communication symbols in this kind of TV programs from the personal angle.Cultural relic and museum TV programs should follow the essence of cultural communication,reasonably select and use all kinds of communication symbols,and maintain innovative mechanism to create more original “popular style” programs and extend the cultural significance of cultural relic and museum TV programs.
