Abstract/Summary:
Airfield lighting is a navigational aid to protect the plane for a smooth take-off, landing, taxiing at night and under the complex weather conditions. It provides the pilots with the location, direction and guidance of the runway to make the plane land safely within the eyesight of the pilots. Airfield lighting dimmers are the core control equipment that ensures reliable operation of airfield lighting. So far, most of the airports' airfield lighting control system uses the voltage-current shifting SCR dimmers over the world. The result of the research branch of dimmers takes another way. The advanced Intelligent Power Module (IPM) is used to replace silicon as the power conversion devices. And the AC-DC-AC transforming technology is used to make a very significant improvement of the output waveform compared with the waveform over the SCR chopper. And the design of the dimmers added the communication interface makes the system have the network functions and implements centralized management of information. It is of great significance to enhance the performance of the airfield lighting computer monitoring system.The thesis discusses the hardware and software components of the monitoring system and the design methods in detail. The system can be divided into two layers according to the structure. The lower layer composed of RS-485 bus and RS-232 interface forms the field networks; the upper layer composed of dual redundant Ethernet, dual hot backup IPC, monitoring computer and network servers forms the computer networks. In this thesis, the PC supervision and control interface is designed using the platform of configuration software, the RS-485 asynchronous serial communication is finished using the driver development kits and the communication between the host computer, dimmers is implemented using the communication board with the MCU as a core and the real-time monitoring of airfield lighting is implemented through the bit configuration pattern of real-time database. It is convenient to provide the centralized management of information through the monitoring interface, which can display the real-time operation status of the airfield lighting and send the control command or query command immediately to the dimmers. From the presentation of subject, system design, the outline design, detailed design, implementation, testing to trial operation, the airfield lighting computer supervision and control system is successfully developed. The results of the trial operation of the system have basically met expectation. However, since the system is not yet fully getting through integrated testing, the system is still not perfect and still needs improving in later research.
