Along with the rapid development of the aviation industry, the existing avionics communication network system has been unable to meet the development needs. It needs a new kind of Aircraft Data Networks for large-scale avionics equipment communication urgently. ARINC664 specification is a new kind of ADN standard adopted by AEEC. And the specification part7 defined a full duplex switched Ethernet. This deterministic network is based on IEEE standard 802.3. It provides QoS guarantee for a point to point network through Virtual Link technology and improves the network reliability through the parallel redundancy structure.Based on the application research project"AFDX Switch Design", a solution compliant with ARINC664 specification was presented in this paper, which can supply a high reliability, high efficiency and low power network for ADN equipment.Firstly, the current development and features of aerial real-time Ethernet in this paper were introduced briefly, and based on the application of earlier avionics data communication protocols, the causes, features, dominances and prospects of AFDX were analyzed; the advantage and difficulty of the designing AFDX switch and core chip using FPGA were discussed latter; the hardware circuit design of the switch board was introduced in detail, including switch circuit and CPU control circuit; the I/O buffer, cam, policing, filtering modules in the key switching chip were described. At the end, the principles, designed the algorithm were analyzed, and coded the modules in Verilog HDL and performed the functional and timing simulation; finally debugged the design in switch board and proved the design is right and has high performance.
